Catering
Chartwells understand that as students grow into young adults, they are feeding our future generation and so it’s important that they have access to nourishing food that helps them make the most of their education, achieve their full potential, and develop brilliant social skills.
Please see the current menus and the tariff information below.
Menus and Student Voice
Across all phases Chartwells engage in regular student voice sessions to listen to feedback and ideas from the students, which in turns supports bi-annual menu development, that goes far beyond the Government's School Food Standards, including high street and other food trends.
Chartwells aim to nourish and inspire students with food that boosts their mental and physical wellbeing, including educational activities, competitions and food-themed adventures and pop-ups to nurture healthy eating habits.
Our current menus are available to download below.
Allergens
Students with allergies, food intolerances, or other medical dietary requirements should be supported to develop the skills and confidence to make safe food choices, both in school and beyond.
Chartwells encourages secondary school students to take increasing responsibility for managing their dietary needs. Catering staff can provide information sheets to students about the 14 legally recognised allergens in the menu items available.
Chartwells do not provide individual medical diet menus for secondary students. Instead, it offers a varied range of balanced meal options to enable all students to make suitable food choices. Please refer to the Chartwells Medical Diets Policy for further information.
Chartwells never uses nuts as an ingredient in its recipes. However, some products may carry a "may contain nuts" warning.
If your child has a food allergy, intolerance, or other dietary requirement, or if you have any questions, please contact the school's Welfare Team.
Cashless Catering
Our seondary school operates a cashless system for catering and other Academy items using ParentPay.
Students use their six-digit PIN to purchase food and can check their balance using the balance checker machines. A daily maximum spend of £7.50 has been set for all students.
If you experience problems accessing your ParentPay account, please contact our Finance Department on 01323 841468.
Our primary school meals can be purchased via the My Child At School app.
Certain data will be held on the system to enable accurate operation. This includes the student’s name, class, photo, account balance and meal entitlement. This data is handled under the guidelines of the Data Protection Act and is only used by parties directly involved with the implementation of the system.
Free School Meals (FSM) eligible students
Accounts will be credited daily with the amount allocated for a free school meal.
From September 2026, this is £3.15 as this is the cost of the two-course meal deal available every lunch time.
Free School Meals students can choose to spend more than the value of the free school meal up to the £7.50 limit, using funds in their account if additional money has been credited. Please note that credit for any under-spend or missed meal will not be carried forward to the next day.
