We understand that choosing the right school for your child can be both a daunting and exciting decision. Whether the transition is from pre-schoo to primary, from primary to secondary or between schools during the year, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Since opening in 2019, our thriving Primary Phase has built a reputation for excellence, providing the very best possible start to every child’s education. We believe in nurturing the whole child, balancing high academic ambition with a strong focus on personal development, wellbeing and character education.

Our purpose-built facilities provide a bright, inspiring and well-resourced environment where children can flourish, from our spacious classrooms to our dedicated outdoor learning areas that encourage curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.

Limited Places available in Years 3 – 6

We are delighted to share that a small number of places have become available within our Primary Phase.

These places are across current Years 2 – 5 (which will become Years 3 – 6 from September 2026) and represent a rare opportunity to join our welcoming and ambitious school community.

At Hailsham Academy, we are proud to provide a supportive environment where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, develop their skills and achieve their full potential, underpinned by our strong values and commitment to high-quality education.

As places are limited, they will be allocated in line with our published admissions criteria.

Open Events

Our Open Events for families applying for a Reception place in September 2027 will take place during the autumn term and will provide an opportunity to explore our school, meet our dedicated staff and pupils, and discover what makes Hailsham Academy Primary Phase such a special place to learn and grow.

Visitors will be able to tour our facilities, meet our dedicated staff and learn more about our vision for every child.

Applications for Reception places are managed by East Sussex County Council (ESCC).

15 January 2026: Closing date for applications
16 April 2026: Decisions sent by email
14 May 2026: Deadline for submitting appeals
16 July 2026: ‘On time’ appeals heard

A detailed description of the application process is contained in the booklet, “Applying for a school” published by East Sussex County Council which is available from early September each year.

East Sussex County Council ask that applications are completed online and provides free internet access at any East Sussex library. For more information on applying online please contact East Sussex School Admissions.

The closing date for applications for Year 7 September 2027 to be returned is 31st October 2026. It is vital that you do not miss this deadline.

Important:

For current Year 6 pupils at Hailsham Academy Primary Phase, no application is required. A Year 7 place will be automatically allocated as we are an all-through school.
