Welcome

We are delighted to welcome you to Hailsham Academy, a forward-thinking, inclusive and community-focused all-through school, serving children from Pre-School through to Year 11.

We understand that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your child and family. As part of MARK Education Trust, we take great pride in working in close partnership with our parents and carers to ensure that every child in our care flourishes throughout their educational journey.

Hailsham Academy is a unique all-through school, encompassing our Primary and Secondary Phases to provide a seamless and coherent educational experience. We currently serve approximately 1,500 students in our Secondary Phase, 420 pupils in our Primary Phase and around 40 children in our Pre-School. Since the opening of our purpose-built Primary Phase and Pre-School in 2019, we have been proud to offer an environment in which children can grow, develop and succeed within one nurturing and ambitious school community.

Our vision is to provide the best possible education for all of our students and to become an exceptional school at the heart of our local community. This is supported by strong and purposeful leadership, high expectations and a shared commitment to ensuring that all students, including those who are disadvantaged and those with SEND, are nurtured to achieve their best.

Across both phases, we offer a broad, knowledge-rich and inclusive curriculum designed to support all learners. In our Primary Phase, children benefit from a strong foundation built on curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. This is developed further in our Secondary Phase, where a consistent focus on ambitious teaching, clear expectations and strong pastoral care supports students to make strong progress.

At Hailsham Academy, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We are ambitious for our children and young people, know them well and support them as individuals. Our learning environments are calm, safe and purposeful, enabling students to thrive both academically and personally.

We are equally committed to preparing our students for the future, ensuring they are well-equipped for their next steps beyond Year 11. Through a combination of academic learning, personal development and wider opportunities, we aim to inspire our young people, broaden their horizons and support them in making informed choices about their future pathways.

As part of MARK Education Trust, we benefit from strong collaboration with our partner schools, while retaining our own distinct identity. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver excellent teaching and learning, develop our staff and enhance opportunities for all members of our school community.

We are proud of the culture we are building. One rooted in high expectations, strong values and excellent relationships that enable young people to thrive. We expect all members of our community to make their MARK by being motivated, articulate, resilient and knowledgeable, and by demonstrating manners, acceptance, respect and kindness.

Our aim is to develop confident, well-rounded young people who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and self-belief to succeed in an ever-changing world.

We warmly encourage you to visit Hailsham Academy and experience our all-through community for yourself.
