Hailsham Primary Cluster Football League
Back in November we welcomed the return of the Hailsham Primary Cluster Football League, which brings together 8 Hailsham Primary Schools in a fantastic football league played at Hailsham Academy’s Secondary Phase site. Having played two weeks of fixtures, in November and January, the league is at the half-way point, with the next round taking place in February.
Match Reports & Highlights
WEEK 1 – November 2025
Top of table after the first round is Hawkes Farm, who have set the early pace with three wins from three. Their toughest challenge came against Hailsham Academy, but they edged it thanks to a superb lob over the goalkeeper to seal the points.
Both Hawkes Farm and Hellingly have been rock-solid defensively, yet to concede a goal in their opening fixtures. White House may be at the bottom of the table, but their two narrow 1–0 defeats show how competitive they’ve been.
It was brilliant to see the determination and team spirit from White House and Hankham—players were throwing themselves in front of shots and celebrating blocks almost as much as goals. That resilience speaks volumes about their togetherness.
At the other end of the table, Hailsham Academy lead the scoring charts with an impressive +11 goal difference after 8–0 and 4–0 victories. They’ll be eager to set the record straight against Hawkes Farm in the reverse fixture. Thornton Grove remain the draw specialists and will hope to convert chances next time to climb the table. And a special mention to Hellingly, who have made a fantastic start with two wins and a draw and who will be playing both Hawkes Farm and Hailsham Academy in Week 2! Infact the top 3 will all play against each other in Week 2, which very much means there is much movement to be had in the final league standings by the time we get to Week 3.
Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you all for Week 2! Please see the current standings below:

WEEK 2 – January 2026
On the 14 January we saw week two of the Football League take place on a very wet and cold evening at Hailsham Academy. The conditions were a stark contrast to the first round of fixtures. This made playing conditions tough for the teams and perhaps was one of the factors at play in the amount of 0-0 games that were seen (8 in total finished 0-0). The rain made both the surface and the football greasy which made building an attack very difficult. However, the teams dealt well with the conditions that were thrown at them and worked hard to try and get the best possible results for their respective schools.
Grovelands made an impressive unbeaten return to the competition, managing to not concede a single goal whilst scoring four of their own. However, like Hailsham Academy and Thornton Grove, they will be frustrated with the amount of 0-0 results. Teams will be realising how clinical they must be when a chance presents itself in the 10-minute time limit.
The evening featured two major rivalries that provided the night’s decisive moments:
- The “Battle of the Fox’s”: The coach for White House was keen to set the record straight against the coach for Hawkes Farm who managed a 1-0 victory in the first round. The two teams played a friendly warm-up which ended 0-0, but when league points were on the line, it was Hawkes Farm who again walked away with the spoils, as the team secured another victorious 1-0 victory.
- The “Marshfoot Lane Derby”: A fierce local derby took place between White House and Thornton Grove, who are only a stone’s throw away from one another. In their first meeting of the league, it was White House that came away with a narrow 1-0 victory. This crucial win sees White House pick up their first three points of the competition and see’s them just a point away from Herstmonceux and Thornton Grove on 5 points.
Hawkes Farm has continued their great form into the second week, picking up three wins from their four games. They have now gone 7 points clear at the top of the league at the halfway stage (having played 7 games). It still remains all to play for with two more weeks of fixtures to come and the top three places (gold-bronze medals) still on the table. Hailsham Academy just takes second spot on goal difference and remains the biggest scorers in the league, having scored a total of 13 goals.
Week 2 Results

It was great to have all schools from our Hailsham partnership competing in the same space on the same evening once again, and despite the rain, it was a great spectacle to see all the students, staff and parents together.
We look forward to week 3 of the fixtures in February, Mr Delmon, Hailsham Academy.
