Dear Parents/Carers, students and our local community,
Re: Consultation on the closure of Sixth Form provision at Hailsham Academy
Following our recent consultation on the proposed closure of our Sixth Form provision from September 2026, we would like to thank all those who took the time to share their views and feedback.
The consultation period has now concluded, and all responses will be carefully reviewed and considered by the Interim Board of Trustees and the school’s leadership team. Further information and updates will be provided in due course.
Throughout this process, our commitment remains to support our students in making informed, successful transitions beyond Year 11. We will continue to work closely with local post-16 providers to ensure a wide range of high-quality opportunities remain available.
While this is a significant moment for our school, it reflects our commitment to the long-term success and stability of our community. We remain entirely focused on delivering high-quality education and look forward to shaping our next chapter as a MARK Education Trust school – strengthening our culture, enhancing our provision, and working together to realise our shared vision of being an exceptional school for our community.
We thank you again for your engagement, support and understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Rob Wakeling
Deputy Headteacher
