Year 7 Football Match Report

The Year 7 team from Hailsham Academy faced Cavendish in what turned out to be a thrilling and hard-fought encounter between two very evenly matched sides.
The first half saw both teams play some excellent passing football, moving the ball confidently and creating chances at both ends. Cavendish came closest to opening the scoring with a powerful shot that looked destined for the top corner, only for Jude in goal to pull off a superb save, keeping the score level going into the break.
In the second half, Hailsham began to find their rhythm and took control of the game. Their patience was rewarded when Emin unleashed a stunning 20-yard thunderbolt that flew past the Cavendish keeper and into the back of the net — a goal worthy of winning any match.
Cavendish, to their credit, didn’t give up and pushed hard in the final five minutes. Hailsham had to defend resolutely, with Ollie D leading the back line superbly and earning himself a well-deserved Man of the Match award for his composure and leadership.
Then, in the dying moments of the game, after a brave Cavendish block, the ball fell perfectly for JJ, who drove it hard and low into the net to seal a fantastic 2–0 victory for Hailsham Academy.
A brilliant team performance and a result the boys can be proud of!
